An open letter to my ball cap

It’s hard to describe exactly how much I love and depend on you.

Initially, I brought you into my life as nothing more than an accessory. I’d take you out downtown a few times each summer. But during the off-season each year you sat atop my wardrobe, unappreciated and no doubt feeling rejected. Then one day, in a moment of greasy haired desperation I made a decision that changed everything.

Now we’ve become inseparable and I’ll never look back. You are always there to support me. During grocery store visits, strolls around town, and last minute play dates, you boost my confidence. You are the keeper of my secrets… namely my severely underwashed hair, my two inch ginger roots, and that smear of pea purée stuck on the strands behind my ear.

So from the bottom of my heart, thank you darling. I appreciate all that you do for me, and I predict we will have a long and happy life together.

xoxo
