Sadly, one of the first things to drop off my priority list as a new mom was my beauty routine. This seems to be a fairly typical symptom of motherhood. It’s pretty hard to care whether your hair is perfectly curled when there’s spit up on your shoulder, and it’s legit impossible for a DIY manicure to dry properly with a five month old in tow. That being said, it’s really nice to ‘appear’ showered and well rested when I pop out for groceries or diapers.
Luckily, there are lots of amazing products out there to lend a helping hand in the beauty department. I thought I would share five products that have been making my life so much easier since becoming a mom.
Garnier Skin Renew BB Cream
I must admit that I’ve been using this product for a few years, but have gained a whole new appreciation for it as a mom. Most days I don’t have time to (or a need to) apply a full face of makeup. This BB cream is lightweight and provides just enough coverage to hide minor skin imperfections, even out skin tone, and lessen dark circles. My face gets a quick little sprucing with just a smear of this and a swipe of mascara.

AG Sterling Silver Toning Shampoo
Getting away for a few hours to touch up your colour at the salon is not so simple with a new babe, and my hair has been going embarrassingly long stretches without professional attention. Any of my fellow blondies know how much maintenance it takes to keep your tone looking bright and brass free. This is the absolute best tone correcting shampoo I’ve found to date…and I’ve tried many. It helps keep my tone fresh and holds me over until I have the chance to seek help from a higher hair power.

Garnier SkinActive Micellar Water
I don’t want to remember my life before Micellar water. Those were dark days. This stuff is basically a skin care miracle for tired mommas. This cleanser/hydrator is unbelievably fast and you don’t even need to rinse after using it. It removes makeup and grime better than any product I’ve tried to date and leaves my face feeling so soft. There are lots of brands on the market, but maternity leave doesn’t exactly leave you flush with cash, so I’ve been using this affordable Garnier version and have zero complaints.

LUSH Sea Spray
For the days when a blowout and styling just isn’t an option, LUSH Sea Spray has been my life-saver! I love the beachy waves that this creates in my hair, and the orange flower, neroli, and rosewood scent is seriously yummy. Just spray it on towel dried hair, scrunch, and let air dry.

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate
This night serum feels like a major indulgence. It’s long been one of Kiehl’s leading products and it’s easy to see why! I put this on right before bed and when I wake up my skin is soft and looks refreshed even though I’m actually exhausted. One of the main ingredients is lavender essential oil, so it also feels like a relaxing aromatherapy experience and gets me in the zone for bedtime. Bonus? It literally seems to last forever-you need such a tiny amount per application.
